About Daniel&Esther

daniel & esther

Daniel works in the consumer electronics industry but hopes to one day own a cafe. Like most Hainanese men, he can whip up a storm in the kitchen and is constantly invited to other people's house parties... to cook for them.

Esther works for a major airline by day, and bakes incessantly by night. Trained as a chemical engineer, she puts that knowledge to good use - by reading package labels to see if it's good for you.

This Is How Important Food Is To Us

By daniel | September 25, 2007

Sorry for the lack of recent posts - we’ve been extremely busy preparing for our upcoming wedding! Time is a rare commodity in between work, house renovations and marriage preparation seminars.

Here’s a shot of us taking a break during our outdoor wedding photoshoot…

wedding fei fei

Nothing like a good bowl of wanton mee from famous Fei Fei in Joo Chiat, supplemented by chunky otak-otak from Kim Choo next door!

As you can imagine, we got plenty of stares from passers-by in along Joo Chiat Road (and cars slowed to a crawl just to gawk at us). Even the fellow making our mee had a wry smile. Guess a couple in full wedding regalia tucking into wanton mee along a rundown roadside coffeeshop is not a common sight.

But hey… Once a foodie, always a foodie.
