About Daniel&Esther

daniel & esther

Daniel works in the consumer electronics industry but hopes to one day own a cafe. Like most Hainanese men, he can whip up a storm in the kitchen and is constantly invited to other people's house parties... to cook for them.

Esther works for a major airline by day, and bakes incessantly by night. Trained as a chemical engineer, she puts that knowledge to good use - by reading package labels to see if it's good for you.

A Chocolate Proposal

By daniel | June 29, 2007

chocolate

A few months back, I proposed to Esther with this box of chocolates from Canele Patisserie Chocolaterie at Robertson Walk. I got the pastry chef to write, in melted white chocolate, “Will You Marry Me?” on assorted truffles, and also placed the custom-made engagement ring in the box.

She said yes! (otherwise this blog won’t exist. ^^)

    Hi Jenny,

Thanks! Esther’s big on chocolate so I thought it was the most appropriate… and the ones in Canele are seriously good.
